Hyperloop : The Future Resilient Transportation

At this moment, many cities in the world, including in Indonesia are facing a lot of similar problems, like overpopulation, extreme climate change, and an increased frequency of natural disasters which causes a domino effect towards multiple aspects, including the transportation sector. The disturbance towrds this sector can cause the mobility of the citizens of the city to be disturbed.

Because of this a cheap, quick, and sustainable in all condition mode of mass transportation is greatly needed. And so, a lot of suggestion and new innovation has tried to tackle the issue and be the  solution to those problems. one of which is Hyperloop.

Hyperloop is a new way to transport people and things with the speed of airplanes but at a much mor eaffordable price. Hyperloop is a super fast futuristic  public mode of transportation, with its own special path in the form of a large pipe, including a compressor moving capsule. Hyperloop uses a special electric motor to accelerate and decelerate the capsule which floats through the low pressure tubes. This vehicle will launch for miles without turbulence and sound.

 

This vehicle use electromagnetic and fluids pressure on the tube to make it moves trough 1100 km/h. As a comparation, current airplanes could move around 900 km/h and maglev could move up to 600 km/h. with that kind of speed, Jakarta-Yogyakarta could be reached only 25 minutes.

 

Overall, the passengers will travel in capsules covered with air cushions. The air cushion will reduce air pressure in the tube and will reduce drastically friction between the capsule and the railway. That things allow the capsule to move at high speed. This capsule will be moved either with a magnet (a system called passive magnetic levitation) or with air coming out of the capsule itself. Hyperloop is a vehicle that can be used in all situations because on each columns mounted with vertical and lateral dumper so it can hold earthquake shocks as well as can withstand fast moving loads. The path of the hyperloop measures 100 feet in length and has a diameter of 2.7 meters. At the top side of the hyperloop  tube also equipped with solar panels that generate energy up to 57 MegaWatt per year.

Each Hyperloop capsule could carry up to 40 passengers each way. Hyperloop can drive 164,000 passengers every day. In addition, hyperlood is designed to depart every 40 seconds,so the passengers mobility will go faster.

 

Hyperloop has undergone engine testing in May 2016 and an overall system test in early 2017. It is planned that hyperloop can move a cargo by 2020 and carry passengers by 2021. Several developed countries have looked at the project and have discussed the application of hyperloop in their cities such as London and Dubai.
